Role Overview:
IAG International LLC is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to oversee and ensure a safe working environment for all employees. The role involves implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with national and international health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in preventing workplace hazards and promoting a strong safety culture within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, risks, and compliance gaps.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with local and international health and safety standards.
- Conduct safety training and awareness programs for employees and site workers.
- Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety measures.
- Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate emergency response plans, drills, and first-aid measures.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and supervisors to implement safety measures.
- Report safety concerns, violations, and recommendations to management.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety regulations, risk management, and accident prevention.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to conduct safety training and enforce compliance effectively.
